I attended Loreto Convent Eldoret in 1967&1968 then had to move to Highlands School as the Secondary School was closing down. My two sisters Florence & Agnes stayed on for another year until we left Kenya for the Seychelles. We spent many happy years of our childhood in Kenya and always reminiscence on those wonderful days. My mother was also employed by the nuns at the Convent. She used to do a lot of sewing. Perhaps the girls who did ballet can recall he stitching their costumes for pageants/plays!
I reside in the Seychelles and work for Barclays Bank. I have been with the Bank since I completed my O-Levels way back in 1974. Its midnight September 6, 2001 and I am so amazed to find this entire site - I left East Africa after O levels for Rhodesia and as there was no mail connection between the two countries, I have been completely out of touch with all of you and my childhood ever since. Anyone who graduated in 1965 I would love to hear from. Myself and my two sisters, Gail and Ginnie Miller all attended Loreto between 1957 and 1965. I was the last, leaving in '65. Ended up in the US; got a BA from the University of Texas in Austin; am currently teaching Navajo high school students (the Navajo tribe is the largest Native American tribe in North America) on a very small reservation in central New Mexico, in the southwestern United States.

I was born in Nairobi in 1941. My cousin Janine Bamford also attended Msongari, my brother Greg and cousins Brian and Graham Bamford attended St Mary's. My dad worked for the East Africa High Commission. I married David Horley in 1961 and we left for Australia in 1962. His folks came from Entebbe. Sadly that marriage didn't last and I married a Queenslander John Craig, we have two daughters Diane 34 and Janelle 30. My cousin Brian lives in Perth, Graham in Papua New Guinea and my brother and cousin Janine are in Natal, South Africa.
I have lost touch with everyone I knew in East Africa and would love to contact twins Fiona and Morag Armstrong now in Durban, who were in my last year at Valley Road.

"I left Msongari in 1957 and spent the next year in Ghana attending university and then onto Edinburgh and Unilever in London. I returned to Nairobi in 1963. In 1965 I met Conrad who is a Canadian of several generations from Nelson, B.C. and we were married early in 1966. We have travelled extensively and made homes in many countries. We have two children, Murray who was born in Nairobi and Katrina who arrived when we were living in norther B.C. Katrina has recently given us our first grandchild. We have a lovely home on Pender Island which is between Vancouver and Vancouver Island and overlooks the Olympic Mountains and we can watch the Orca (killer whales) from the house in the summer when they swim by, and the fantastic bird life including bald eagles.
