In the front row with me was another Peta and we thinking her name was Elliott.  Looking that one up too.

I received this photo from Jonathan Elliot. He says of the photo - the date is November 1966, I am third from the right (teacher end), sitting on the bench with my arms crossed. I believe the teacher's name was Mrs. Staples.  Nicola Hedges (nee Kean-Hammerson) is in the 3rd row 5th person in from the Right.

Thanks to Suzanne Free (63-70) for the above photograph of her class.

Suzanne also sent me these photographs of a swimming gala in the late 60's!

Laura Fraser lcfraser@shaw.ca I was delighted to find this website.  My family lived in Mombasa for two years in the late sixties, and the swimming meet pictures were taken during that time.  I can't remember the name of the Physical Ed teacher -- the tall, energetic-looking older woman -- but I do recognize two of the girls in the right-hand picture.  The very tall girl on the extreme right of that picture is Fiona Anton, and I am standing just behind her, just visible, biting my nails as usual.  Just to the right of the Physical Ed teacher, also with her hand in her mouth and wearing a blue cap, is Marcia Mauro, I think.  Another name that comes to mind is Jennifer Burt -- I think she was in a lower Form -- and a girl named Merope, whose last name unfortunately eludes me.  They would have been at the same swimming meet, although I can't identify them from the picture. The pictures would have been taken in 1968 or 1969, I think.I do recognize some other faces, but it's been a long, long time and I can't put the names I remember together with the right faces. (02/01/09)

Thanks for putting a few names to the faces Laura.

Do you recognise yourself?  Let me know!

Tina Duff-Dobson (Herbert) has sent me some wonderful photos of Loreto Mombasa and writes; I got a friend to scan them for me so I'm afraid you'll get our Brownie Pack one taken in 1953 as well - there were a number of Convent girls in that one.   Of the other ones the big one was taken in 1958 at a Sports Day and the other two smaller ones taken in 1960 (without numbers) and 1961 (with numbers).   Hope someone can recognise someone they knew.

Sylvia Hickey (nee Nicholls) sent this photograph:

It goes back a long way I  would guess 1958 (?)  It is taken in the grounds of the Old School before the big move.  The pupil is my sister Pamela (Nicholls).
