I arrived in Kenya in 1951 with my father and mother. My father Stewart Thomson still lives in Nairobi. I left Msongari for UK in 58 and had some time at school in Winchester. Secretarial college in London and married my husband Robert in 1964. We lived in Warwickshire for a short time but as he is a mining engineer we have spent most of our lives outside UK. We went to British Guiana, now Guyana, in January l965. Our two sons were born there in the jungle. Ian in 1966 and Brian in l970. We returned to Scotland for two years before coming to the Hunter Valley in NSW in l972. We moved to Sydney in 1984 and plan to stay here. Both sons are now married and we have three grandchildren. Robert and I both like travelling the most interesting being in remote parts such as Antarctica and the Arctic. We might have to curb our activities soon owing to back operations and other frustrations of age but we intend to do as much travelling as we can when Robert retires in the not too distant future. RIP : Phillippa Vinson (LARSEN) whom we never lost touch these past 35 years..........we (my sisters and I) knew her from a very young age, and spent many wonderful years together in Rhodesia and South Africa. I have been to the First Loreto Re-union held in Johannesburg and it was marvellous and wonderful to meet old girls again. Hoping to go to Cape Town third re-union.

Cinzia Forby ( Trinci) - Hillside, Victoria, Aus. Valley Road 1970/71.
I attended Loreto Convent Valley Road from 1962 until O-levels in 1970 or 71. I am the youngest of three ex Loreto sisters. The oldest is Gabriella (head girl in 69 or 70), and the in between is Antonella.
We left Nairobi for Rome in 1971 (with Mum, Dad and young brother Corrado). Mum, Dad, Corrado and Antonella returned to Africa (Zimbabwe) in 1975. Mum and Dad passed away a few years ago. Corrado is still in Harare and has established one fine reputation not only as a high school teacher of distinction, but also as a Director or music and conductor. My sisters and I have been around all over the world since leaving Nairobi, and the stories would be too long to recount here !! I lived in Rome for 12 years, then moved to Adelaide, Australia in 1984.
I am now married to Bryan Forby and have four wonderful boys (three from my ex marriage) Alessandro (25), Stefano (23) and Lorenzo (16), and little six year old Simon Forby.
I now reside in Hillside, Victoria (on the outskirts of Melbourne).
Gabriella is in the United Arab Emirates and Antonella is in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
I have the fondest memories of my days at Loreto. And would be delighted to get in touch with some of my ex class mates. Are any of you out there reading this? Please write to me !!
